Individual training

Individualized instruction at a chess school provides a more personalized approach to a student’s development.

Level and Goal Assessment:

  • Level Assessment: Conducting initial testing to determine the student’s level of play and knowledge;
  • Goal Setting: Talking with the student to identify their goals for learning chess: improving their game, preparing for competition, developing certain aspects of the game, etc.

Lesson Planning:

  • Personalized Learning Plan: Developing an individualized learning program that takes into account the student’s strengths and weaknesses;
  • Method selection: Using teaching methods that best suit the student’s learning style (visual, auditory, kinesthetic);
  • Developing special materials: Preparing materials and assignments that address the individual needs of the student.

Various aspects of the learning process:

  • Theory: Learning the fundamentals, strategies, tactics and theory of openings, endgames according to the student’s needs;
  • Practice: Lessons with practical tasks, games and practical exercises tailored to the student’s specific needs;
  • Game Analysis: Analyzing the student’s own games, identifying mistakes and improving strategies.

Evaluation of progress:

  • Weekly/monthly assessments: Conducting quizzes or test games to measure progress;
  • Feedback: Providing regular feedback to the learner to adjust the training program;
  • Program Adjustment: Modifying the curriculum based on the student’s progress and changing needs.

Individualized chess instruction allows for more effective customization of the learning process according to the needs and pace of learning of each individual student. This creates favorable conditions for a deeper understanding and development of playing skills in chess.
