International Email Chess Group (IECG) Member Poll

Top Ten Chess Web Sites

Following is the list of the top ten chess web sites, as determined by a poll taken by Michael Blake for the IECG Newsletter. I personally find this recognition most gratifying. Creating and maintaining a quality web site requires a major commitment of time and energy. In my case it has also encompassed the talents and hard work of others who have not only encouraged me but also provided excellent material. I would especially like to recognize USCF Senior Master Mark Morss for his outstanding column on openings, John S. Hilbert for his excellent, well-researched articles on the history of cc in the USA and John Knudsen for his help, encouragement and trailblazing work promoting cc on the Internet. Thanks to Michael Blake and the IECG staff and membership for providing this interesting poll and a very worthwhile newsletter.

I suggest that you check out the June 1999 IECG Newsletter and the other web sites on this top ten list. There's little doubt where the interest of the voting members is focused, especially when you consider the number one site!

John Knudsen should also receive recognition as the creator of The Correspondence Chess Message Board (TCCMB) and for hosting two of the ten sites at his correspondencechess.com.
